a reto is an identity similiar to a kin, but isn't exactly spiritual. a reto is characterized by either relating to characters in an inherently neurodivergent or disordered way (autism, depression, ptsd, etc) or seeing traits of yourself in said characters that are inherently neurodivergent or disordered. or... it can be relating to a character for no reason because your nd brain said "me!". retos can canonically be neurodivergent or disordered or non-canonically! it's all about how you interpret them.an example would be retoing yoisaki kanade from puroseka because she exhibits traits of depression that you also exhibit yourself.another example would be retoing gin ibushi from kimi ga shine because you're autistic and he's also (canonically) autistic.one last example would be seeing mitsuba sousuke from tbhk only to have your silly brain spontaneously say "holy shit! it me!"origins
